Port Burwell Public School
2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are focusing on “Your Words Matter” to promote kindness, empathy, and positive communication at school.
We are doing this to create a school-wide culture that values kindness, empathy, and the power of words to make a positive impact on others.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Celebrate acts of kindness and inclusion through Shiny Moments given by students, staff and community members.
- Weekly or monthly challenges with a focus on “Be The Reason Someone Smiles Today”.
- Use the W.I.T.S strategy to promote a safe and respectful school climate.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child about what it means to “Stand Tall and Shine Bright”.
- Try a weekly “Your Words Matter” challenge at home to use kind language at home (e.g., complement each family member, write a thank-you note).
